Kissing 2005 goodbye!

Just a few more days and 2005 will be gone. First, we get to celebrate the holidays, which ever is your version of choice. Gathering with family and friends... exchanging gifts... and eating lots of good food (my favorite part!) Then it's back to work for you... Sean Patrick will be on VACATION!!! The perfect way to spend the end of the year. Just kicking back. A little work around the house... lots of laying on the couch... catching up with some friends I missed over the holidays... and hanging with T-bone at the Velvet Revolver show on the 30th at Borgata. Good times! Then it's New Year's Eve. Kissing 2005 goodbye... and welcoming a brand new year... 2006. I'll be, well, working. That's right, it's the second year of a tradition at ZXL that I hope continues for a long time... A Whole Lotta Hair New Year's Eve. We kick it off at 6pm... and I'll be playing the songs of my youth. Big hair... tight spandex... groupies... flicking your bic... singing loud, NO LOUDER... when rock music ROCKED!!! Cinderella... Bon Jovi... Motley Crue... Dokken... Ratt... Warrant. Not to mention the Scorpions... Winger... Slaughter... Whitesnake... Tesla... Twisted Sister!!! Cheesy lyrics... outragous hair... more make-up then Tammy Faye. I live for those days. It was exciting... it was loud... it rocked like no other era of music. David Bowie looked like a chick in the 70's... so did Dee Snider in the 80's... but the difference... Dee Snider could kick your ass!!! So tune in ZXL on New Year's Eve, it will be way more exciting then that Dick Clark B.S., turn the radio up loud, and get ready to be rocked all night long. If not, me and Dee will come kick your ass in the new year.

So, you would think after talking about the 80's, I would recommend an 80's CD. Well, I am, sort of. Most of the American hair bands of the 80's were Van Halen... just with tighter spandex... alot more make-up... and guitar riffs ripped off from EVH. So let's go to my favorite Roth era Van Halen record... Fair Warning. Mean Streets... Unchained... So This Is Love. Some the best rock tunes of the 80's. VH I and 1984 get more attention, but Fair Warning rocks way more than both. By the way, I'm Hagar faithful, Roth ain't my taste, but I can't deny Fair Warning it's do. If you're a youngster, go check it out. If you're an elder, you know what I'm talking about... Rock on!
