Las Vegas

So I was in Vegas a few weeks back for a buddy of mine's bachelor party. You might remember him... the great BONJO.... weekender for ZXL a few years back. It was six of us and Vegas was amazing. Stayed at the MGM Grand. Hot a ton of casinos... Mirage... Luxor... Hooters (yes Hooters casino)... Caesars... Harrahs... Wynn... and many more. Saw Louis CK at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay. Funny dude. I mean really funny. Spearmint Rhino. The second best, if not the best, strip club I've ever been to. If you like $5 and $6 beers, Vegas is for you. Expensive town. But tons of fun. Everyone should see Vegas at least once.

This past weekend I was in Pawley's Island, South Carolina... twenty minutes south of Myrtle Beach. Took my mom to see her best friend since 1st grade. Good time. Flying next time. 12 hours there. 12 hours back. That sucked. But all in all, Roctober has been a busy month and I hate travelling. I'm resting the rest of the year. And boy it's been a long year. Time to think. Time to reflect. Time to make changes. First though, lets get through the holidays.

Been Awhile

So what's been going on...

Las Vegas... Bachelor Party Weekend. Everyone should experience Vegas at least once. MGM Grand was awesome. Louis CK... funny as hell. Good times. Good times indeed.

ZXL's Pigskin Challenge... 5-0-1. Undefeated. Bring it on. That's right. I'm bragging and I will until I'm beat.

Bon Jovi still sucks.

New music from Metallica and Def Leppard in early 2008. Looking forward to hearing it.

Watch Carpoolers. Funny ass show. Don't let it get cancelled.

Phillies break my heart again. At least they made the playoffs. The Mets didn't and that's always a good thing.

Check out the vid below. Velvet Revolver doing "Patience". Good stuff...

Van Halen 2007

Well I broke down and went to Van Halen, version 2007 last night in Philly. And although I am and will always be pro-Sammy Hagar, last night with Diamond David Lee Roth was a pretty damn good show. Even Wolfgang held his own, though it would have been better with Michael Anthony. All the hits were there... Panama, Ain't Talkin' Bout Love, Hot for Teacher, Running with the Devil, Beautiful Girls, Unchained, and Jump to name a few. Deeper cuts like Somebody Get Me a Doctor, Little Guitars, I'm the One, Romeo's Delight, and Little Dreamer. All in all, it was a great show. From Dave swinging the flag to open the show to DLR telling Wolfgang "You'll Get Some Leg Tonight For Sure, Tell Us How You Do" and Wolfie telling him "Dave, Gimmie a Break" to DLR referencing to the Phils playoff berth. The crowd was crazy and loved every minute of the night. Though I would have loved to hear Poundcake, When it's Love, Right Now, or Best of Both Worlds, hearing Dave sing them would have been just wrong. Hey Sammy, play Philly or AC. I'm there. And bring Mikey with you since the Brothers Van Halen will not. Eruption, Catheral, and 316 was great too. Congrats to VH for finally giving the fans, well not all of them, want they wanted. Oh yeah, it was really, really LOUD. No I'm not too old, sometimes drowning out Roth can be a good thing, but not all the time. And hey Dave, stop singing I'll Wait, it wasn't good. Throw in Take Your Whiskey Home or Feel Your Love Tonight. My grade an A.

Van Halen 2007

... or the latest version that is called Van Halen. Not happy about Mikey not being there and I'm pro-Sammy. But the setlist is impressive and I'm going to check the show out. Love the songs, hate DLR. I'll let you know how it was...
