Velvet Revolver Reveals New Front Man?

Scott Weiland of Velvet Revolver announced on stage the other night that this is the last VR tour. The rest of the band didn't know. SURPRISE!!! Of course, you know by now Stone Temple Pilots are reunited for a summer tour, but VR already started working on a new record as well. Then news surfaced that VR is slated to be the opening band for the upcoming Led Zeppelin tour, if it indeed happens. After the announcement, drummer Matt Sorum and Scott Weiland traded shots on the internet. And then this pic surfaces. Robert Plant with VR, minus Scott Weiland. Velvet Zeppelin? Led Revolver? Could it be another reason that Led Zeppelin doesn't tour? I gotta say Robert Plant looks alot better standing with them rather then Alison Krause.

Stone Temple Pilots 2008

Hands down, the best band from the '90. Nirvana, nah, I think we know the real talent was Dave Grohl. Pearl Jam, good, but not since 1995. Soundgarden, ok. Alice In Chains rocked, but short lived. Smashing Pumpkins, thumbs down. And the rest of the rock bands of the 90's kinda sucked. STONE TEMPLE PILOTS. A pure good old American Rock Band. Not grunge. Not alternative. Just a great hard rock band. And they are BACK!!!
Go back and listen to CORE, PURPLE, & NO. 4. Grab Tiny Music and Shangrala DeeDa and check out songs like Pop Love Suicide, Big Bang Baby, Trippin' On A Hole In A Paper Heart, Dumb Love, Days of the Week, Coma, and Wonderful. Hell, listen to those two straight through too. Thank You is a compilation with a new tune and Plush acoustic. Every record. Every song is solid. STP ROCKS!!!

Live - Borgata - 3.14.08

After having the tough job of hosting the Hooters St. Patty's Bikini Contest on Friday night, I went over to Borgata and checked out the second half of the Live show. Very loud, but very good. I missed the beginning, but I still saw Run to the Water, I Alone, Heaven, Lightning Crashes, Lakini's Juice, and White, Discussion. I heard they also played Selling the Drama, The Dolphin's Cry, All Over You, and even Walk the Line. The Event Center was pretty packed too. Good show from a great LIVE band. Congrats to all our winners too!!!

Sean Patrick's Phillies Preview

So I'm a huge Phillies fan. I've been watching them from about 1983 with my dad. Suffered thru alot of losing seasons, the end of '93 is a scar I still carry, and last year was just amazing. Then we got swepted. Alright, lets forget about that. Lets look forward to 2008. It's gonna be a great season. I know spring training isn't looking good right now. But spring training? Who cares? Here are the positives...

1. Two MVP's... Ryan Howard and Jimmy Rollins.

2. Chase Utley... maybe a third MVP.

3. Good, could be great, starting staff... Hamels, Myers, Kendrick, and Moyer.

4. Strong, deep lineup... Victorino, Burrell, Ruiz, Feliz, Werth, Jenkins, and a host of others added to the Phils three All Stars.

5. The Phans... the best in baseball.

The negatives...

1. 5th starter... Eaton? God No. And basically, there really isn't anyone else.

2. Bullpen... it could be good. but it could be awful. This worries me. Injuries always seem to bite the Phils in the bullpen.

3. The Phans... the toughest in baseball.

If healthy, I don't think the Mets are any match for the Phillies. The Mets pitching is aging and gets injured too often. And they are the Mets, from New York, who always finds a way to screw it up. Here's my prediction for the NL East...

Philles - 95-67

Mets - 90-72

Nationals - 78-84

Braves - 75-87

Marlins - 69-93

How far do they go? I don't know. But we're getting to the playoffs. We need a quick start and the Nationals are just the team the Phils need to start with. Here's to an exciting 2008 season...

GO PHILS!!!
